Leon Jamin 1913. "Landscape with castle at sunset". Oil painting on canvas. Measurements with frame cm 66x75. Work of good pictorial quality. Léon Jamin, born in Liège on November 22, 1872 and died in his hometown on November 22, 1944, was a Belgian post-impressionist painter, specialized in the landscapes of Campine and the Ardennes. The sixth child in a family of 14, he was the son of Ernest Joseph Jamin and Antoinette Henriette Frison. A student at the Academy of Liège with Adrien de Witte and Évariste Carpentier, with whom he worked in Campine. He also travels to Spain and Provence. He often participated in exhibitions in Brussels and Liège in the 1920s and 1930s. His works are mainly exhibited at the Walloon Art Museum in Liège.
