Pietro Melandri, 1885-1976. Eminent ceramicist from Faenza. Majolica plaque depicting a still life of a bouquet of flowers resting on a marble surface. The splendid chromatic rendering is accentuated by the luster background. Melandri was among the undisputed masters of the revival of the luster technique. Signed with an engraving of the letter M within a stylized pomegranate. Perfect state of preservation.
