Terracotta sculpture, with gilded bronze trident. Genoese manufacture. Attributed to Giacomo Filippo Parodi, 1630-1702. Dimensions: 27x20x16. Neptune wields the trident and triumphantly stands on a shell, riding two dolphins and appears to face the fury of the sea. The movement the artist expresses in a sculpture of such small dimensions is exceptional. Excellent state of preservation.
