Era: Early 19th century French-made mantel clock in chiseled and gilded bronze and cut crystal. Era and style: Restoration, 1815-30. Dimensions: cm h 51 x 19.5 x 14 Exceptional clock housed in a cut and wheel-polished crystal case. The grinding can be recognized by observing the slight parallel grooves visible in grazing light. Author Lepaute. The bronze decoration, sober and essential, underlines the slender profile, accentuating the elegance of the vase. The numerals are made of cabochon enamel. Published on page 188 in "Measuring Time" publisher Artioli, of which I am the author. Paris type movement, with half and hour strike on a bell by means of a count wheel, with an eight-day power reserve and wire pendulum suspension.
