Era: Early 19th century Era and style: 1st Empire 1805-15. Manufacture: Darte, Paris. A distinctive clock set in a porcelain vase-shaped case. The Darte manufactory was one of those under the administration of Sèvres and specialized in the production of porcelain cases for vase-shaped clocks. The vase is in the round, and the clock is regulated through a small door that can be opened from the neck. Paris movement, with at least eight days of power reserve and striking hours and half-hours on a bell. Published on page 192 in "Misurare il tempo" Artioli publisher, of which I am the author. Materials: polychrome porcelain in excellent condition.
