AND STUDIO
FRANZ WERNER VON TAMM (Hamburg 1658 – Vienna 1724)
In 1692, the banker Francesco Montioni commissioned the two artists to create a series of six paintings depicting putti and flowers for his palace in Via di Parione in Rome. Another series on the same subject was commissioned by Marquis Nicolò Maria Pallavicini. These paintings were very successful, and the two painters, with the help of the workshop, executed other versions. Currently, two paintings from the Montoni series have been traced to the Louvre Museum, while those of Pallavicini are dispersed.
