Born in Nice (France), he moved first to Bologna and then to Turin, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts, coming into contact with Giacomo Grosso. In 1912 he was invited to the Venice Biennale (in which he participated several times, even after the war, as well as participating in the four editions of the Roman Secession); in 1913 he participated in exhibitions in Munich, San Francisco and the 1st exhibition of the Roman Secession. He is, together with Giovanni Romagnoli, Alfredo Protti and Guglielmo Pizzirani, among the most appreciated Bolognese artists of the early twentieth century, as highlighted by a recent exhibition held in San Marino, dedicated to the Bolognese masters present at the editions of the Roman Secession. In 1941 he won the Bergamo Prize reserved for young people. Carlo Corsi, however, is 62 years old. The second prize goes to Renato Guttuso, who presents the work Crucifixion. In 1953 he won a purchase prize at the first edition of the Spoleto Prize. Carlo Corsi exhibited at the Venice Biennale from 1912 until the 1958 edition with a room reserved for him and the presentation by Francesco Arcangeli. From 1908 to 1966, alongside Garzia Fioresi, Guglielmo Pizzirani, Alfredo Protti, Scorzoni and Romagnoli, he was, as an artist member, one of the leading names of the "Francesco Francia" Association for the Arts of Bologna. The Cinquantasei Gallery of Bologna has published the first volume of the master's general catalog.
