The paintings examined under a black lamp show some restoration work.
The scenographic execution in the representation of the ruins and characters highlights the pictorial characteristics of the artist V. Martinelli, especially in the care of the anatomical rendering of the characters, well drawn, and in the description of the details; from the fisherman's basket to the drapery of the robes.
Vincenzo Martinelli was one of the most well-known and active landscape painters in Bologna between the 18th and 19th centuries.
