Indigenous Sculpture in polychrome glazed ceramic, with decorations in gold leaf. In excellent condition, with no chips or breaks. Manufacture: Ars Pulchra from the 1930s Measurements: h 52 x 23 x 25 The "Ars Pulchra" factory was founded in Turin, with headquarters in via Luigi Cadorna 3, by Bartolomeo Camisassa and his wife Maria Clotilde, on July 30, 1935. The production, directed by Bartolomeo Camisassa himself, already an employee of the Turin ceramic factory "Lenci", is based on the creation of artistic ceramics and small sculptures depicting little women in the "big name" style of Gino Boccasile, subjects of national folklore and religious character. The subjects produced, of good quality and painted in rich and lively colors, manage to establish themselves both on national and foreign markets. The manufactory makes use, among others, of the collaboration of the modeler Mario Mesini, the caricaturist Piero Cattaneo, the painter and ceramist Camillo Ghigo (known as Mastro Ghigo), Lino Berzoini, Otto Maraini, already collaborators of the "Lenci", the head-layer Ugo Rossignoli, the decorator Mario Costanza and the miniaturist painter Elisabetta Viarengo Miniotti. In 1955 the young painter and decorator Pier Giorgio Romerio joined the company as a partner. The manufactory ceased production in 1962.
