Around the late 1920s, the ceramist Manna was hired as a modeler and decorator for the production of artistic ceramics at the "Lenci" manufacture in Turin, owned by Helen Konig Scavini. Like other employees of the glorious Turin factory, in the early 1930s she left "Lenci", which was by then in deep financial difficulties, and opened her own workshop in Turin called "C.I.A" (Ceramica Italiana Artistica - Italian Artistic Ceramics). The "C.I.A." ovens produced high quality products such as vases, ornaments, precious statuettes and female figurines, imitating the ceramics of the "Lenci" company.
