Biedermaier early 19th century cm h. 67x33x23. Polychrome porcelain vase.
Period: Early 19th century
Measures H x L x P
Polychrome porcelain vase. Parisian manufacture from the Biedermeier period and style, circa 1830. The exceptional dimensions, with a height of a full 67 cm, make this work extraordinary. The plastic movement, enhanced by the gilding, gives us an image of movement, almost like a flickering flame. The floral decoration, executed according to the best canons of Biedermeier, occupies the entire body and almost seems to exuberantly emerge from it; acquiring three-dimensionality, not only for the splendid execution, but also thanks to the expedient of placing a miniature in the center and partially inside it. The marbled gilding on the base and leaves is very particular. Seen from the back, we appreciate the silhouette, which, also thanks to the gilded highlights, reminds us of the image of a bird in the act of taking flight.
