Boudoir set - Work table Period: Early 19th century Historicism Boudoir set from the first half of the 19th century. Composed of a drop-front desk accompanied by its original chair and a work table complete with its stool with upholstered seat. Materials: solid and veneered maple, inlays in walnut, amaranth, rosewood and green-stained wood. Manufacture: Padua, signed inside "Bortolo Padova". Measurements: Drop-front desk cm h 95 x 66 x 37 Chair cm h 100 x 44 x 50 Work table cm h 71 x 53 x 40 Stool cm h 45 x Ø35 This unusual boudoir furniture demonstrates the quality and invention that Venetian artisans were capable of in the early 19th century. The design of this furniture matured in the cultural climate preceding the construction, in 1830, of the famous Caffè Pedrocchi, which was furnished with rooms of different styles, including one in Turkish style. The locks are still in the 18th-century style, as is the antique state of the patina on the bottoms. All elements that place the execution of this furniture in the early years of the 19th century.
